“Join us for this Asian celebration of change and the Year of the Dragon! Lion Dancers, Red Panda Acrobats, Martial Arts, Kids Arts & Zodiac Themed Crafts, Food, Inflatable Playland & More! FREE!

The San Mateo County Historical Museum program will include:

* Free Admission to the History Museum (All day) Children’s Crafts in the Rotunda will include activities such as a miniature dragon kites and lucky red envelopes,
* Listen to the Erhu – traditional Chinese version of the violin, performed by Ms. Mei Xuan, an Erhu virtuoso
* Short talk given by Mr. Nan Su, New Tang Dynasty TV (Channel 32) news commentator.

“Join Oakland Asian Cultural Center as we celebrate the Year of the Dragon with cultural performances, arts & crafts for the kids and workshops for the whole family! This event is FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Make a Japanese Paper Doll, create a Year of the Dragon Mask, build a Korean kite and more! Your youth will get a fun, hands-on experience on how various Asian cultures celebrate and ring in the Lunar New Year!

Holiday Mixer with Eskabo Daan

“ESKABO Daan is a Filipino Martial Art which has been integrated with aspects of many other martial arts. At first E.S.K.A.B.O started off as an acronym ( Escrima, Serrada, Kali , Arnis, Boxing & Jeet Kune Do).

The mission of Eskabo Daan is to envision and create a global arena where humble minded martial artists who are passionate about promoting and perpetuating the Filipino martial arts, can gather and have an exchange of knowledge and ideas in the absence of financial or political obligations.

We at Eskabo have a desire to share our knowledge and understanding of the unique history and culture of our integrated Filipino martial arts system to as many people as possible.

7th Annual SF Asian Heritage Street Celebration – 5/21/11

After a long hiatus (my last set of undergraduate finals ever), we’re back! And with a vengeance. Expect a lot of updates in the next few weeks. A Facebook page is also in the works!

And now onto the event. This year featuring a Thai Monk Blessing, balut eating contest, Jcars, Mah Jong, Muay Thai, Asian American cinema, and the Asian Art Museum is free!

“Demystifying the art of Gung Fu (Kung Fu) and counteracting stereotypes of violence, this community martial arts day presents Shaolin Gong Fu as a basis or spiritual development and self-discovery through practice of movement and stillness.
